WAVERLY, IOWA —
The Waverly Chamber of Commerce & Main Street invites residents, business owners, community leaders, and other stakeholders to attend the First Impressions Community Forum on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Tendrils Rooftop Garden, Waverly Health Center, Orange Entrance, 312 9th St SW, Waverly.
The forum is free to attend, but advance RSVP is required. Lunch will be served. Non-chamber members who wish to eat lunch may purchase a meal for $14.
Learn What First-Time Visitors Think About Waverly
Over the past several months, a trained team of assessors visited Waverly to experience the community through the lens of first-time visitors. The upcoming forum offers a unique opportunity to hear their initial findings and recommendations—insights that highlight Waverly's strengths and opportunities.
“This is a valuable opportunity to hear more about the experiences assessment team members had in Waverly,” said Ann Vogelbacher, State Tourism Specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Community Economic Development. “This feedback can inspire new ideas, strengthen local initiatives, and guide future planning efforts for your community.”
Everyone Is Invited to Participate
The Community Forum is open to all interested individuals, including residents, businesses, attractions, community organizations, natural resource partners, local leaders, and other community stakeholders.
Waverly was selected through a competitive application process to participate in the First Impressions program. The program is a partnership between Iowa communities, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Community Economic Development, and the Iowa Economic Development Authority/Iowa Tourism Office.
The forum is hosted by Waverly Chamber of Commerce & Main Street.
